Structured Wiring / Computer Networking

The KPS Structured Wiring System is designed to provide your home and family with the high definition, high capacity wiring infrastructure demanded by today's High Definition - Digital Video, Internet, computer networking and gaming environments.  Instead of using traditional copper wires for phone and standard coaxial wiring for video, the Structured Wiring System utilizes high speed Category 5e cabling for phone, computer networking, Internet and gaming, and the high capacity shielded coaxial cable to accommodate the new HD digital video signals.

Structured Wiring Basics:

Our Structured Wiring System has Three Main Components:

1. Home Connection Center - This is where services from outside the house (cable TV, telephone, Digital satellite, Internet, etc.) enter the home. This Home Connection Center distributes these services to locations throughout the house- similar to the electrical breaker panel.

2. High-Performance Cables- Just because all the services can reach your house doesn’t mean that you can access them. Certain services like digital satellite, high-speed internet, digital phone, and digital TV require high-performance cables located in designated areas within the home.

It's like your refrigerator.  Just because it has an ice maker doesn't mean it will make ice. You need the water line to your refrigerator location to get ice.  The same is true for the phone, TV and internet services to your equipment.  Don't make the mistake of  not installing these vital high-performance cables in your home during the construction wiring stage.  It's a must!

3. Outlets- The outlets in each room determine which services are available in that room. Without the proper outlets, the services are of little value.

With the Home Networking Package we will upgrade your structured wiring enclosure with a larger premium hinged door enclosure to provide you enough room for the equipment you will need and with the hinged door it gives you quick easy access to vital system parts like your network router, switch or internet modem.  In addition we will install a 8 port switch and depending on your needs and your home design additional Cat 5e Data jacks.  (Our Home Technology Specialist will provide detailed information on how many Data jacks are included in the package available through your builder)  Click here to contact one of our Home Technology Specialist for additional information.

 

 

No problem…  Adding the home network package to your home allows you to simply plug in your wireless router where you need it so you can get great signal where ever you are.  You can even install several wireless routers at different data jack locations so you have signal where you need it when you need.  

Don't want the mess of wires on the desk, but need wireless access then you need a WAP!!! (Wireless Access Point) in your home for care free clutter free wireless access.  The WAP installs in your ceiling and looks similar to a smoke detector thus alleviating the  wire nest of a mess.

Flat Panel Connect:

Want to mount your TV on the wall, but don't want the wires hanging to your outlet and HD Box.  No problem, with KPS's Flat Panel Connect it's simple and easy!  The Flat Panel Connect gives you a 2" conduit from your HD TV outlet to your Flat Panel TV location allowing you to run your HD cables inside the wall conduit.  In addition we will work in conjunction with your builder to install a 110 volt outlet to power your Flat Panel TV.  It's clean because all your wiring stays behind the wall.  Another great feature: As technology changes you can to, with the 2" conduit tubing it's easy to pull future cables to your Flat Panel TV.
